Description:
This is not your ordinary 993, what started out as a Canadian Delivered car back in 1995, has turned into my interpretation of what a 993 RS could be, with some modern twists. This is not a garage queen, it has spent most of its life as a track car, comprehensively maintained and constantly upgraded.
To replicate this today would cost in the vicinity of us$150,000, it would not be for the faint of heart or wallet.
The upgrades have always been at the pursuit of performance gains, ease of maintenance, always focusing on function over form, though form has improved as well ?.
The engine build was featured in Excellence magazine starting in November of 2013, chronicling the build the decisions and the final result.
I have thousands of photo's and videos of the car those interested will be provided a link to view.

THE OTHER BITS:
EXTERIOR: The car is a track car, so the regular track patina is present, the paint looks incredible for a 25 year old track car but there are stone chips and some areas that have significant pitting. About 10 years ago it was involved in a minor fender bender, the only part that was replaced was the bumper cover (hence the Euro bumper) and minor damage to the fender, this was repaired and not replaced, no damage to the hood.
INTERIOR: has been stripped and new sound deadening in the rear has been put in place, from the seats forward nothing has been done, floor mats in place and nothing much else.
TRANSMISSION: It has never been opened other than for the install of the LSD. It is due for a refresh, the first gear syncro when cold is a bit temperamental. The diff could also do with a rebuild with some Guard Internals.
The triple plate 5.5" Tilton clutch was installed because of an issue I posted about here on Rennlist. (https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...sion-woes.html )) This was a solution that essentially cost me nothing as I sold the old clutch flywheel for the price of the Tilton, a little labor on my part and it was installed. It works, and is great on the racetrack, on the street it can be a challenge and hill starts are a no-no.
To complete a proper repair the transmission would need to be torn down and have one of the transmission specialists do a boss repair. California Motorsports (CMS have an excellent solution for this very common problem.
ENGINE: A couple of years ago, I blew an oil line (return line from engine to oil tank) as I was leaving a set of traffic lights, I accelerated away briskly, and all of a sudden I look in the mirror and saw my impression of James Bond, a smoke screen!, I cam off the gas and shut it down immediately, the oil line had pumped hot oil directly onto the headers, hence the smoke. The car was trailered home, oil line repaired and a search for any potential damage begun.
The only thing that showed up was during a leak down. Cylinder 5 was at 12% with all others around 4%. The leak is coming via the rings, a bore scope was used to check the cylinders and scoring was found in any. The car drives will, pulls hard and could be left like this for a while. Eventually a quick re-ring will be required.
Additionally, as the engine has no cats, ITB's and an aftermarket ECU, there is zero chance it would pass a smog inspection.
The list price of us$75,000 takes into consideration the above issues and condition.
THINGS I WOULD DO IF I WAS KEEPING IT:
The list is not long but would be expensive, however it would make this one of the best aircooled Porsches around and would easily push more modern machinery on the track.
TRANSMISSION: Regear all the way! Stock 993 gearing is not so great, a regear and a nice 50/80 Guard Diff and look out.
SUSPENSION: A full set of remote reservoir shocks would be fantastic, Ohlins would be my choice.
ENGINE: The only thing holding this back from 420+ HP is a set of billet heads, expensive HP but oh so worth it.
