Some designs never seem to fall out of style. The SW20 was one of those cars that has a classic look yet never seems dated. The body lines are soft yet aggressive, the interior is driver focused but comfortable, and the drivetrain has it's own cult following. '94 Brings us into the 3rd iteration of this chassis with every evolution only making the car that much better. Subtle aesthetic and mechanical changes continue to make this platform as effective on tracks as it is pulling daily duty. Hands down one of the best aspects of this particular car is the color. While we don't have Toyota's production numbers, Tropical Blue Metallic (8B6) is no doubt one of the most rare factory colors available. While the photos showcase the car well, it truly doesn't do the car justice. The pearl really blows out when you get it out under the sun. The all stock body work showcases the color well, and some of those subtle revision such as the color matched rear garnish, get brought to life. While the front fogs were removed, this one is equipped with the larger single piece rear wing that everyone loves and the updated Kouki tail lights. As well as the paint shows, the body holds up equally well. The paint and body each have some minor blemishes, but nothing out of the ordinary. With 96K verified miles this MR2 appears to have been well preserved over the years. In keeping with the factory black and blue color scheme a black powder coated set of 16/17" SSR Integral A2 wrapped in a sticky Dunlop Direzzas.

The interior has been left almost all original and shows particularly well. The GT-S spec is fitted with cloth seats and door panel inserts which are in overall great shape. The driver side bolster does show some minor signs of wear and there is one small hole in the seat base, but isn't uncommon for a 25 year old car. The seats offer excellent support when the road gets twisty and are free of any notable stains or tears. The black and blue ATC Volanti Sportivi wheel and original shift knob do have some wear from use over the years but nothing excessive. Mounted underneath the steering column is a HKS turbo timer. All of our power accessories are functioning as expected. Power mirrors, windows, door locks, and an automatic climate control. The A/C is blowing properly, and being a fixed roof coupe helps to cut down on interior temps as well.

The 3S-GTE power plant is notorious for it's reliability and ability to make great horsepower right out of the box. Ours already has a few of the basic bolt ons already checked off for it's next owner. A hardpipe intake in nestled down by the passenger rear inlet. If that didn't already amplify the turbo, the Blitz Super Sound blow off valve definitely makes it known. A Fujitsubo dual exit catback lets out a deep rumble when you turn the key. The two liter fires right up and while more noticeable than stock, it's not going to drive your neighbors crazy. While the suspension has been kept stock, in order to help tighten up the chassis front and rear Spats strut tower braces were added. The stock suspension rides well, and unlike many stock setups, doesn't leave the coupe looking like an off roader. The 5 speed in these are crisp and easy to run through. Clutch engagement is smooth and pretty forgiving while you get the hang of left hand shifting. For someone looking to stand out in the SW20 clubs look no further, in stock trim you're going to be hard pressed to find another one like this!
