This V8 Vantage Volante is 1 of a total of 167 Vantage Volantes produced by the factory. Of the 167 cars, 109 were true V8 Vantage Volantes with the full ‘580X-pack’ 400+ bhp engine (30 automatics & 79 manuals), 33 of these cars were left hand drive (for the European market) and 76 were right hand drive for the (UK market). Due to USA regulations the American market was left with the “Cosmetic Vantage Volante” with the less powerful Weber Marelli Fuel Injected engine as it would meet USA emission requirements. The factory thus exported 58 left hand drive examples to the USA. This V8 Vantage Volante started life and one such example.
