It is a 2002 Protege that was purchased from Mazda as a white body. David DelGenio @ Driven Performance built and setup the car for World Challenge (Touring class) and was used in 1 race. Most recently the car was raced in in SCCA EP/ITE. This purpose built Mazda Protege was designed and constructed to be a championship winning car. Over $60,000 worth of racing equipment and professional labor was invested. The car was raced only once at Sebring, in the 2004 seasons first event of the SCCA SPEED World Challenge Touring Car Championship series. The original chassis procured from the manufacturer comes without a title and has no VIN. The car can only be driven on the track. The car has never been damaged or abused in racing and it is excellent condition ready for its next competition. It could be raced in SCCA, AutoX-Solo2, NASA, or perhaps other classes? Everything installed in the car was new, first quality equipment and parts. The CAD-CAM design, chassis modifications, full roll cage, suspension and tuning bits, engine management systems, front air dam, etc. were all designed and constructed in collaboration with David DelGenio who is a well regarded Mazda race car setup expert in the Northeast. He owns and operates a race shop named Driven Performance in Acworth, New Hampshire.
