2015 BMW Alpina B6 Gran Coupe - Weissach

It seems that today, all performance cars are produced as dual clutch, rock hard, track carving monsters enveloped in a competitive game of numbers irrelevant to anything that their owners will actually do. This automotive quest of numbers, though impressive on a track, creates a sea of extremely fast cars, that are unbearably uncomfortable. With a 0-60 time of 3.7 seconds thanks to 540 HP and 540 Ft-lbs of torque, the Alpina flies through the quarter mile in 12.1 seconds at 116 mph. So it’s fast. Really fast. Perfect. But where the B6 takes a unique turn, is the rest of the delivery. Sure you could have that dual clutch transmission that shifts in 0.5 of a second, but lurches the rest of the time, and a suspension made of granite designed specifically to crush a Nurburgring lap record, but is all that really worth the annoyance when using your car… as a car?
