LS1-Powered 1993 Mazda RX-7

bringatrailer.com

This 1993 Mazda RX-7 is a heavily modified example that was fitted with an LS1 V8 block and T-56 6-speed manual gearbox from a 50k-mile Camaro Z28. Since acquiring the car in the Seattle-area four years ago with the swap completed, the seller rebuilt the T-56 6-speed transmission, installed LS6 heads and intake manifold, a TSP torque V4 cam, JTR headers, a new timing chain, ACT clutch kit, and more. Numerous suspension, cosmetic, and driveline alterations have been performed as detailed below. Receipts from Rhom Innovations of Portland, Oregon document much of the completed work, and this RX-7 is now being offered for sale with a clean Carfax and clean Oregon title in the seller’s name.

actually LS swaps usually only add about 50 lbs. The problem is that you have to relocate the steering rack which induces nasty bump steer.
