1970 Monteverdi 375/4 Sedan

hymanltd.com

The 375/4 is essentially a stretched version of Monteverdi's equally obscure High Speed 375 two-door, four-seater grand touring car. Instead of redesigning the car's looks to work with four doors, the company simply added 20 inches to the wheelbase, and changed little else. The result, as you can see, is, uh, interesting.

The fun doesn't stop there, though. Under the hood you'll find a Chrysler-sourced 440 cubic-inch V8 sending power to the rear wheels via to a Torque-flite automatic transmission. Look inside the cabin and you'll spot a shifter similar to one found on the Mercedes SL Pagoda, and a six-inch Sony solid state television mounted in the back.

According to the sellers at Hyman Ltd. in St. Louis, Missouri, around 30 examples of the 375/4 were built. With an asking price of $265,000, it's certainly not cheap. But that's the price of ultra-obscure vintage luxury.
